Building Layers: A Cold Wax Exploration | Pay Deposit

$450.00

October 9–12, 2025 | Kittery, Maine

Celebrate the fall season with a three-day immersive workshop focused on cold wax and oil painting. Whether you’re new to the medium or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop welcomes artists of all skill levels. With a balance of guided instruction and personal exploration, you’ll have the opportunity to grow at your own pace.

We’ll dive into a variety of techniques including layering, working with contrast, veils of color, brayer and transfer techniques, mark-making, masking, stenciling, compression, and blotting. Discussions on composition, color theory, and editing will support you in creating stronger, more personal work.

This is the second year at the barn at Haley House, where we will be fortunate to enjoy all our meals prepared by the amazing Chef Mel Harrington. The barn at the Haley House in Kittery Maine, is ten minutes from Portsmouth, New Hampshire and one hour away from Logan Airport in Boston and one hour from Portland, Maine.

  • The cost of the workshop and all meals is $850 with a $450 deposit due at registration. Balance due 60 days prior to workshop.

  • Price includes three dinners, three breakfasts and two lunches.

  • Workshop hours: Thursday: 1-5 // Fri & Sat: 9-5 // Sun: 9-12

  • Skill Level: All levels welcome

  • A supply list will be  provided upon registration
